SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, at 43 Main St., has announced their programming for the month of September. Programs are free and open to the public.

Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program.

To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 for Labor Day.

The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. This club is for all who love handiwork.

Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (4).

For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required.

You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

¯ Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to attend Chess Club! We will meet on Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m. For ages 10+ and registration is not required. Please stop in and play!

¯ 19th Century Painters Amos Wight and Ammi Farnham: Join us as Vince Martonis, Hanover Historian, presents a program about these two local painters. Original works by each artist will be on display. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.

¯ Growing and Using Medicinal Plants: Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m with Kathy Contrino from CW Native Plant Farm. Kathy will share lots of information about adding medicinal plants to your garden, along with the benefits of doing so!

¯ Lego Club for ages 5-12, Saturday, September 9 at 10:30am. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children.

Friends of Anderson-Lee Library Used Book Sale: Stop in during the following times for a great selection of gently used books priced right and support your local library! Wednesday, Sept.13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (limited to current Friends of the Library.

Memberships may be purchase do enter), Thursday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept.15 from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept.16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a bag sale starting at noon.

Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Sept. 21 and 28 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts.

School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings September 21 and 28 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered.

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
